Check engine light

Check engine light
I have a 2005 Acura Tl and it has 140,000 miles on it. Check engine light came on for the first time the other day. I stopped by autozone to get codes read. Well they used 2 different code readers and it would link up but kept coming back as error. Any thoughts or tips I could use . I really dont want to take it to dealership unless I have too. Thanks Jeff

My experience with shops like auotozone is that they hook up cheap 'over the counter' OBD-II readers. if you don't want to go to the dealership, find a mechanic with a good code reader.
You can also be upfront with the dealership: "These codes aren't showing up on my OBD-II. Can you please check the codes so I can fix them myself?"
For what it's worth, I don't think this is uncommon. I can't use my $100 OBD-II on my '08 Type-S.

use the OBDII scanner and its ok. I have a shop to borrow the Snapon diagnostic tools for details scanning. BTW for those of you have th 07-08 with navi the full code will store in the navi.
