goes on and off every once and a while the dealer says its caused by not tightening then gas cap enough, and usually a day or two after that it goes away. should i bring it to the dealer anyways??

 

9 out of 10 emmision lights are from the gas cap. hes probably rigth. if it continues i would bring it back

Any update on it? I had the same problem, I read the manual, removed the gas cap and tightened it, had no problem since.

 

i went they told me the gas was either too lean or not lean enough. i am still having the problem and i am going in about two weeks after my car gets out of the body shop next wednesday. I also contact the person who sold me the car to see what he can do. If it is a mistake by acura that cannot be fixed does anyone know what can happen??

 

i just bought my new TL type S on feb. 28th, and the next day i got this CEL (P0171), running lean. i just dropped it off at the dealership today, so we'll see what happens. but i'm not happy that i just bought a $40k car & the next day i get a CEL.

 

yea and it keeps going on and off it pisses me off, they claim it "fixes itself" but we will see im going next friday after it comes out of the body shop

 

yeah, i got it back yesterday & they said they couldnt find anything wrong with it. they cleared the code & checked fuel pressure & all that, drove it around, and it didnt come back. i drove it aroud for a while yesterday & it seemed ok. hopefully the CEL won't come back.

 

dumb question but...you're not running regular gas in it, are you?
