Check Engine Light

My check engine light randmonly comes on and stays on for a while and then goes off and doesnt come back for weeks. any idea why this is?

it could be a number of things, from the gas cap to misfires to a bad sensor somewhere.

GO to the dealer the next time that happens immediately and have them pull codes. That's the only way you wll find out what it is for sure.

As a matter of fact, just go to the stealership NOW. They'll be able to pull the codes regardless of the CEL.
