check engine light

my check engine light came on when I was driving with the VSA off. I was in high RPM's using the sport shifter. It came on and blinked for about 5 seconds and then turned off. Does anyone know why this happened? should I get it checked out at the dealership? my car has a little over 26K miles on it. thanks for the help.

Unless it comes on again, I dont' think dealers can find anything. Unless that error code is saved somewhere.

That happened once when I was test driving a 2003 TL-S. I expected the 2-3 shift to be forced at some point, but it just kept going and I guess I over-revved it. Every other Auto-stick car I had driven would do the 2-3 shift automatically to prevent over-rev.

Or it could be the gas? If you are reving that little bitty 3.2 too high, you need good gas.

Same thing happen to me and the dealer was able to read the code, it was 6 hours after and after 60 miles. I don't know what the retention is but it keeps track during a certain time.

My problem was an ''angle sensor ???'' part of ABS system.
