CEL P2647 (Vtec Pressure Switch)

I'm getting a CEL - P2647, which has to do with the VTEC pressure switch. It seems like my car wants to engage vtec at low/idle rpms. I hear a click/pop from the rear bank as if the vtec is trying to engage. This sends the car into safe mode. Anyone have this before?

I am suspecting either the Vtec pressure switch or the solenoid. I pressure tested the solenoid and it seems ok. I also checked oil pressure on the pressure switch and it is registering 18psi at idle and 80psi at 3k rpms (within spec). What else could cause this - bad sensor...,debris inside solenoid...? i'm confused.

You're running Hondata on your TL? Do tell. =)

No clue on the issue you're having though. Have any cool friends willing to let you use their solenoid to test?

Well, if you have a code for a bad pressure switch, maybe try replacing it???

I dont have any manuals on my car yet (no problems so far) but most cars use oil pressure to change the valve timing I think, so they need a solonoid to open the oil pressure to the gizmo, and maybe monitor things with a pressure switch?
