CEL P2631 (O2 bank 2 sensor 1)
went to advance auto to have my CEL read and this was the code that it threw...i assume it is one of the 4 (?) O2 sensors that need to be replaced? my 05 Tl has 47,XXX miles on it, i guess its normal at such milage. is this a replacement that can be done by an individual or is this a 'stealership' job? thanks in advance

Its not normal for an oxy sensor to fail that early.
They can also be fooled, since they only read oxygen content, a vacuum leak, exhaust leak, or other problems might trigger a dtc.
The p2631 code says label circuit high voltage.
I dont know what that means, a bad sensor, a bad connection, or what.
I might clear the code and see if it comes back, if it does, you need to get more info about that code.

Brettg, thanks for the info. when i took it to advance, the guy said it was a 'fore warning' light. the CEL test, said it will flash on and off before it stays on, oddly enough, its was off this morning. guess its nothing to be extremely concerned with. oh yea, what IF i dont replace the O2, sensor, will it greatly reduce or alter my performance (mpg...)? i will be moving to a state that doesnt require regular inspections (exhaust....) considering just leaving it and not replace.... anyone's .02 is appreciated~!

You should not ignore a CEL, or a bad sensor, as it can get more expensive to do so. You dont want to pay to replace catalytic converters that have melted down and plugged up after ignoring a CEL.
As long as the light does not come back, you are likely fine, but dont ignore a flashing CEL, or even a steady one.
One oxy sensor does mixture control, the other reads cat efficiency, and you dont want to ignore a fault in the one that controls the mixture, as MPG may plumit, and the cats could be damaged.
I would not ignore anything on the TL, but you have to keep in mind some things may trigger a CEL from time to time, specs on obd2 are tight, a loose gas cap, a little water in the gas, and maybe some other things can trigger a CEL but clear by themselves.
Something like a scangauge can read the codes and clear them, plus show lots of interesting info, a handy thing to have just to make sure the CEL is not something serious....
