Makes you wonder if they actually replaced your motor...

What happened before? Rod knock?

You blew your VTEC?....... Hm, how does that work. I wonder if they checked the muffler bearing too.... Anyway, knocking is definitely not good. Hopefully they will take care of the problem.

LOL, funny guy, lights.

I'm afraid 1,000 miles under 3,000 will not make up G35 races. Evenif you had 100,000 miles under 3,000 RPM, the car will not be able to take 7,000 RPM easily. Just remember, this isn't an S2000, you cannot ht 11,000 RPM. Please don't try.

Unless you're bouncing off the rev limiter down the freeway for several miles the motor should be fine. Taking your car to redline isn't going to cause it to blow up. Now mis-shifting into 2nd when you meant to go into 4th is a different story. Although I downshifted to 1st on accident at the top of 2nd on my GSXR... thank God for the slipper clutch else I probably wouldn't be here right now.

I'd be careful talking to a moderator like that.... I would call up honda again and see what they say, if you did something wrong like mis-shift, the car would have logged it. At this point, I would figure its a badly programed ECU or engine control module as this knocking seems to happen once you start racing people (meaning higher revs)

Anyways, how is the engine? Any issue with the dealer? Have you contacted Honda / Acura care?

I hope this goes well. Just remember, luxury sports sedan.

Thats great... Blown vtec LOL thats fucking great. Like someone else said, I hope they replaced your muffler bearings as well.

You should continuously check your vtec fluid to make sure your not running low.

When they said they were replacing your motor, they probably just pushed the mute button so you couldn't hear it anymore. Some one probably bumped it in the parking lot today on accident and turned it back on. You should defiantly take it back to the dealer ship and demand they fix your motor instead of just putting it on mute.

Its a blueish grey. Unless you have the type-r vtec fluid and thats redish, almost like transmission fluid.

Its between the tranny casing and the block, on the torque converter where the vtec takes place.

Also, since you into racing, if you hold down Menu/cancel/audio and get the Navi configuration screen you can enable pro-race mode which adds another 30Hp my adjusting the Vtec engagement, and maximise timing to produce the max from the motor.
