Ceiling caving in!!!?! Help!
Ceiling caving in!!!?! Help!
I got into my car today to see this;

Why is this happening? Whats the best way to fix this?
This comes after a cracked dashboard, front passenger side window issues, fabric over brake light bubbling, broken sliding cup holder door, blown subwoofer, various rattles, drivetrain shudder, & chipped paint on front bumper.
This is my 3rd Acura. I take pride in my cars and always have kept up with maintenance, and external appearance. This is just unbelievable..

mine did this for a little bit. for me it was something up there was unhooked. so you can try that. worst case double sided tape, but it might not work because of the sunroof. that doesn't seem too bad though where does it pivot down the most?
I can't tell if it's sagging or bent. If it is indeed falling down.. glue it. Ask a tech what they use for the headliner rattle.. pull it down, slap it over, stick it back.
I'm telling you from experience from dealing with this that it's easier to just take it to the dealer, pay the $150 bucks for them to fix it and have the work warrantied so if it sags again they will fix it better.
I tried fixing it myself using industrial velcro, double sided tape and other things and the Florida heat just melted the glue every time. Whatever Honda uses works much better and holds up to the heat. I finally broke down and took it to the dealer (there is a TSB on this issue, even though I couldn't get a good-will service of course) to have it fixed. It started sagging again after 3 days. I took it back the next week, they gave me a rental, had it for 2 days and when I got it back it looks perfect and has never sagged again. It was worth the money to save me the headache of trying to fix it again and failing and the work was warrantied.

There was a TSB for this. If your car is still under warranty they will try to fix this. If your headliner is really badly creased sometimes they will replace it too. If not under warranty they charge about $200 to do the TSB fix. New headliner is about $400.
Problem is that the headliner is attached to the center cross beam with a several patches of velcro. The TSB replaces the 2 velcro patches in the middle with new patches with stronger attaching glue and accelerator.
It usually fixes it for a while. I had to fix mine again last year as the car is now out of warranty. I used the guidance from another member who fixed his with sanding the paint off the spot where the patch is attached to the center support and using a strong epoxy (I used 30-minute set). There was a thread on this ( I searched for "sagging headliner")
