CD Changer replaced????
CD Changer replaced????
Has anyone had any issues playing burned CDR's or DVD-A's. I have an '06 TL, and have just had the CD player/changer replaced under warrantly...of course I have 6 cd's in the deck which I'm told they have to mail back to me in 4-6 weeks.
The service manager said that burned discs should never be played in the car as the discs are thicker and may get jammed...may have been suggesting this is what happened to my deck. Does this make sense to anyone???? What benefit could it possibly serve to make the discs thicker? and would a reputable stereo manufacturere not recognize this?
Has anyone heard this, or is this B.S?

I just used a caliper and measured a windows CD against a burning CD and they have the same thickness. One thing though if you look at the edge of a burning CD and look at the regular CD, some have rough surfaces. That I think could affect the player.
did you have any labels or adhesive on the disks? Those are what cause the rollers/feet to jam up. I only used burned disks and have no problem. I use the staples/office depot brand disk with no problem.
