Catastrophic failure

Lol.... Has this happened to anyone else? I can't figure out how to go about fixing it. It completely sheared off the cover

Yup it's a common issue. I'm sure there's a walk through on how to replace it (can't be fixed) in the 3G Garage. Dismantle and replace.

Mine has been gone for several years. I forget it even existed until I see these threads talking about it.

You need to buy the whole cupholder assembly. Comes out easy: take off both trims, remove cup holder screws

LOL...I forgot mine disappeared too, until I saw this forum. Cheapest I saw was like $55 to get a new part...I'll deal with it for now. I even tried super-gluing it but it broke at another location.

Mine just broke yesterday after about 11 years. I usually keep it closed because it's a handy location to rest my iPhone. Now the main part has "disappeared" into the console because I had to put two water bottles in the cup holder.

I found the part for $93 which seems pricey for some plastic on an 11 year-old car.

Are there instructions online on how to replace the whole assembly? Does anybody have a cheaper source?

After reading this thread, I fixed mine after spending the day detailing the car. I took a flathead screw driver and nudged the broken section up and out then super glued it back together. So far it's holding although it's weird to have the cup holder closed again.

Does anyone know of the best (cheapest) place to the a replacement cup holder assembly? I've bought parts from AcuraOEMParts in the past but $96 seems like a bit much for this.
