Car won't start

was driving and dash lit up like a Christmas tree everything brake air bag check engine all dash lights. got it home no start clicks battery was around 11.8 charged the battery for a few hours reading about 13 turned car on reading about 13.8. take the car out again runs for a little than it died.

took it to autozone they said battery was fine battery is brand new less than a year old platinum series.
they said that according to the test alternator is shot. it makes sence granted the symptoms. 2 questions.

I plan on running a system so excellent time to upgrade and get a more powerful alternator system is gonna be one sub 2 amps can anyone provide a recommendation on something aftermarket?

second question is is it a pain to replace the alternator.
