Car starts doing weird things on the freeway, now will not restart! HELP!

So I'm driving home on the freeway, the following happens in this order..

1) Battery symbol on gauges comes on.
2) Car starts to feel like it has no power, stutters between shifts. doesn't shift lower than 2nd and higher than 4th...?
3) Gauges start going crazy in video below.
4) When off the freeway, coming to a stop the lights on the dash start flickering and shifting is still bad.
5) Park the car in driveway and will not restart. See second video below.

So I figure alternator is either not charging the battery, or the battery is dead and cannot hold a charge.

I went and had the battery tested, they said it was dead. I buy a new one and install it, car starts up. But the battery symbol is still on. Is there a reset to get rid of this symbol or do I still have a problem? I'm assuming tho that the alternator is toast.

Can anyone confirm my suspicions? Please Help!

Those links don't work. I'd have the alternator tested... and did getting a new battery fix all your other problems?
