Car is not starting!! Dying out ?
hi..
about 1 week ago i drove my car about like probably 20 miles then parked for maybe 4 or 5 hours and my car didnt start.. i would turn the key and it would click. but wont start . i had to turn my key probably about 10 times before it would start again. could it be the starter? i have a new yellow top battery so i dont thiunk its a batttery issue. please help!
and also my car on a very cold start would start perfectly and rpm would be around 1k - 1.5k rpm then as it warms it it dips under 1k rpm at idle.
if i were to start the car after a drive the rpm would be under 1k and if i rev the engine the car would drop rpm almost to 0 then slow go back up to under 1k. and it feels like the car is about to die out!

HELLO!!
if it was the starter, you wouldn't hear the clicking.
if the alternator is bad, it could drain your new battery in not a lot of time... therefore when you go to start it, it could seem like a dead battery (which is true) but it is caused by a bad alternator draining the battery.

Could be the starter/solenoid as that is a normal sign of one going south. Check to be sure the cables ends are clean and tight, but the next time it happens, turn the lights on and try the starter, the lights should stay bright, but if they go very dim, battery, but if they stay bright, replace starter.
