Car is dead again...2nd time in 3 weeks

Hello guys, just to clarify, due to cold weather and a$$ crap tons of snow I haven't been able to diagnose what's going on yet. Mostly my reason for posting is to get your opinions and see if anyone else has experienced this problem.

November, bought a new duralast gold battery
January, car wont start, put battery on charge, still wont start, take battery back and am told its bad....I was given a new battery
February, car sat for 4 days, no start again!!!

Battery is completely drained, no lights, nothing. I am assuming there are electrical things going on behind the scenes but shouldn't my car be able to sit longer than 4 days???

there is a common occurrence with the HFL (hands free link) eating the battery.

I have seen that. I am going to try that in hopes that cures my problem.

i am pretty sure it's the HFL.

just press the speak button on the steering wheel to make sure the HFL work. if not, you can try to bake it first before replacing

Its funny you mention this because the other day (snow and ice all over my car) I looked outside and up by my rearview mirror the snow and ice was melted off the windshield in that area

Might be onto something here.

I have seen something somewhere about baking at 385* for (I think) 8 minutes or something....anyhow, what is accomplished by baking?

I removed mine completely after it killing my battery about 5 times. I installed a Blue Stream Bluetooth device to play music and answer calls . HFL is a costly replacement so if you still find yourself needing bluetooth for calls have a look into purchasing a bluestream it Cost around 60$ at best buy. It connets through your aux input and plays music as well.

info on it below
bluestream - Best Buy

cheater's way of re-soldering the circuit board.

there is a thread on this somewhere but, Acura opted for a cheap circuit board. This resulted in some of the soldered connections to wear out over time leaving an open circuit hence killing your battery. Baking it would melt the soldered connections re-establishing a connection but it I would assume it's not 100% effective.

I would tend to agree. I feel like I will just unhook it and roll as I do not use the blueteeth anyway
