Car battery dead for a second

I have a 06 tl with 130k. Some mornings when I wakeup my remote won't unlock the door. The first time I used my key to open the door and turned the car on to see the trip gauge reset but navi and radio weren't.
This morning I had to open the door with the key and when I put the key in its as if there was a dead battery. When I got out and closed the door the alarm went of. My remote started working again and the key turned the car on and it had power. The trip gauge again was reset. Anyone know what's wrong?

Sounds like the battery is about to go to the big lead-acid charging station in the sky...

First check could be the terminals, pull them off and clean them. Make sure they're making good contact.

Then perhaps stop by a local parts store and get the battery load rested. Sounds like it might be reaching end of life.

This.
Sounds like a connection is lose and arcing when the car gets jolted. Mine did a similar thing when my positive cable had corrosion and then finally broke.

Or its the service bulletin, which is draining your battery...

5 Month old Battery. It died one because of the HFL Drain but i removed the HFL a Month ago when it died due to the Parasitic Drain

This exact thing happened to me this week. The terminal and cable were heavily corroded so I ended up having to chop it off completely and replace with an aftermarket terminal

If the clamp can move, it can where it arcing happens. I bet the next time it is "dead", you can move the terminal and things come back to life immediately. That is the behavior I had which was similar to thoiboi. Mine ended up the dealer with a broken cable/clamp and I got the entire cable replaced.

FYI

This is what my positive terminal looked like when I popped the hood after making the 50 mile trip home.

Let me tell you, it's sort of scary when you're driving along on the freeway and the power blips for a second and everything goes out... I was definitely taking a huge risk continuing to drive but i live life on the edge.. (I DO NOT recommend doing it though)

Got home safely and happened to have an extra terminal (KonFused Positive Battery Terminal - Merchandise) from previous car.

Cut off the 4 gauge cable that went to fuse box and 1/0 gauge cable that went to starter. Both had heavy corrosion that went into the cable. I shall be replacing them with aftermarket cables when I find some time.

Looks very familiar.....my original thread here: https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...minals-850634/

My battery case was cracked at the post letting the acid eat away at the clamp. Didn't find that crack until after the replacement kept getting the build-up. But leading up to the complete failure I was getting intermittent dead'ness when I would try to unlock my car.
