Cannot find screws to remove glovebox

Hi all,

I'm trying to change the cabin air filter. From tutorials, it seems like a fairly easy process. So I bought a filter and proceeded to removing my glovebox. As I was attempting to remove it, I found out that there are no screws that I can unscrew. See picture. So has anyone seen this before and how do I remove the glovebox? There doesn't seem like any screws holding it in place. I have a 2004 TL. Thanks.

Check out this thread with photos: https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...s-pics-724287/.

There are a couple of hidden bolts on my TL's glove box enclosure per that thread, and lots of clips.

Welcome to AZ.

Thanks for the reply. That's my point. The bolts and screws are not there. I did notice that the person who posted a tutorial about cutting out a pice of his glovebox also has the same design. But he doesn't say how he removes it. Perhaps that's why he decided to make the cut.

You're pretty much done...

Theres 2 screws as you can see holding the glove box compartment to the assembly.

Remove those, then all you do is pull the assembly off (the whole beige coloured thing), then boom, you see the cabin filter.

i did notice those and it seemed that they were just holding the compartment to the beige thing and not keeping the beige thing in place. The screws that I'm expecting are just not in the right location. but I'll take a close look at it tomorrow and give it a shot.

I have an 04 too, and did this couple days ago.

I'll say it again for you

1. Remove those two screws I circled.
2. Pull the whole beige assembly off as it's just held in by clips now.
There are no other screws, there are no other clips, there are no other push-pins.

Or you can just keep pondering about why your glovebox is different than in videos with newer year TLs
You know they change things after years
I was confused also on my first time doing it also
