Strange noise coming from engine. If looking at front of car the sound is coming from the right side of the engine. Here is a link

Couldn't hear much. I could hear a hissing and a ticking, which are you talking about? Is the car running differently? Dash lights on? If it were me, I'd call your local Acura dealer and describe the noise to a service adviser. Who knows, they might even diagnose it for free(stranger things have happened). Even if it cost $50 for them to diagnose, much cheaper than a new engine or many other fixes.

probably the noise is coming from the belts...is it time for 105k?

when you say "right" side do you mean passenger side or drivers side?

There's not a lot of moving parts on the drivers side (at least sitting idle), but there are a lot of moving parts on the passenger side.

If it's like a rattle that's RPM dependent coming from the passenger side maybe one of the pulleys or tensioner is shot for the accessory belt.

This engine was just replaced about 10k ago. And the noise is coming from drivers side. When I first picked up the car after engine was installed it was nice and quiet and now it's pretty loud and had a rough idle while at a stop light

Just replaced? Did you break it in properly? Oil changes during the first couple thousand miles? I'm no expert, but on my old car when the motor was swap, I had to baby it and do frequent oil changes!

Sounds like a lot of valve noise. Check the oil level, and with the engine running, remove the oil filler cap and see if the noise is louder.

Maybe it's just my ears but I hear a lot of ticking and some pinging.

Are you running premium gas?

The engine was used and I use 89 octane. I am OCD with my car and I have had nothing but problems with this car.

I'm not to sure but it sounds like your valves are clicking , maybe it needs to be adjusted? And as for gas should always use what recommand 91octane , unless your really have no choice but than again it's like 2-5 dollars at the pump

The difference between regular and premium ceratinly isn't going to cause any sounds when the car is at idle.
