Can anyone help???

I have an 2006 Acura Tl 6 speed, and while driving my RPM's started to race. When I pulled over and tried to start it again it would not engage any gears. What should I do?

Thats not enough info...
What do you mean by not engaging gears?
You can't shift it into gear, or you can but when you let go off the clutch, car doesn't move?
Do gears shift/engage while car's not running? if not...sounds like a tranny failure to me.

If gears engage with car off, but don't engage while the motor's running..your clutch could be your problem.

Your RPM racing while driving (i'd assume while you were accelerating), is something commonly described as clutch slipping...but if that were the case, it means clutch doesn't engage properly, which doesn't explain why you can't get into any gears.

So my assumption (based on the little info you provided), would be that the tranny failed.

I mean that I hear no sound, feel no movement when I shift the car into gear. Like I put it into 1st gear i hear no gear mashing. Like the gear shifter is moving freely.

i see...do you have someone that can move the gear lever, while you look under the hood on top of the tranny to see if the gear forks move at all. And you also can try shifting into gears from under the hood by moving the shift forks on top of the tranny. See if they move.

Have you had a short shifter installed? This happened to a friend of mine...the cable popped outta the lever under the center console and he couldnt shift.

Also, have you had shifter bushings installed? This is something rare, but it can happen..the cable popping outta the shift fork on the tranny. Take a close look, make sure everything is in tact....

while all this doesnt explain your RPM jumping, it could've happened from popping outta gear.

I wish I had the car in front of me, and i'd be able to diagnose this fairly quick.

Just friendly advice, a good description and a good thread title will go a long way. Some people may see a useless thread title like "Can anyone hlep??" and not even bother looking at the thread. Put forth an effort to convey your problem, and people will be more likely to put forth an effort to help you.

Correction::::With the aftermarket shifter bushings, i meant that, the lockpin could've broke or popped out, or forgotten to be installed, allowing the cable to pop outta place

So I guess the question is, is the clutch slipping or is the car refusing to shift into gear...

I've had the shifter linkage come apart and I had to shift the car into second from under the hood and drive it home that way.

Funny you mention that.....same thing happened to a friend of mine...and i engaged 2nd under the hood for him and told him to drive it home lol.

The OP hasn't answered many of the questions yet, but a lot sounds contradicting...like the revs flying up, and issue with shifting...now the lose shifter feel.
