A/C Compressor doesn't turn off

When I use A/C and then turn off the compressor by hitting the A/C button, the air stays cold (75 degrees outside). In the past when you do this the air turns muggy as the air temp goes ambient. Please note I'm only trying to turn off the compressor, not the fan. Even when I turn off the fan with the vent open, its cooler than the outside air and leads me to believe something isn't turning off. Anybody know whats happening? Thanks!

You need to look under hood and verify if AC compressor clutch is actually engaged or not when AC is turned off.
