2007 Acura TL Evap Purge Valve

So i had the fuel cap needs to be tighten warning message. I came to this site and found out it's the Evap Cannister Purge Valve. So i changed it and the warning message hasn't comeback, but now I have 4 different CELs to do with the evap purge valve. I thought I might have boughten a bad evap sensor because it did have bad reviews, so I bought a different one with good reviews, installed it and drove it around for 10 minutes and the CEL still won't go away. Anyone else have this problem?

I finally got around to replacing the purge solenoid. 10 minute job, easy to do.
Amazon $25 part, "appears" to be OEM.

So far so good on my '05, which threw the CEL with P0443 and P0457 codes as well as the "tighten fuel cap" message several times per tank of gas before changing the purge valve a couple of weeks ago.
No CEL or message since the replacement about 300 miles or so ago.

Becareful as there are counterfeit parts float on the market and Ebay is pretty notorious for that.

I just ordered my $25 "oem" purge valve and will complete the job on Sat. I saw another thread that described this same issue..."tighten fuel cap" message with NO DTCs or CEL which matches what my 06 TL is presenting. Had the service bulletin and everything. I'll be glad to have it done, and on the cheap. Thanks for your voice of experience!

Happen on my '05 and this solved the problem permanently, after replacing the gas cap didn't fix the code.

I recently bought a '08 TL-S 6MT and had the tighten fuel cap message. I replaced the EVAP Purge Valve with an OEM part from Amazon and it fixed the problem.
After replacing the part, you have to drive a couple miles for the message to disappear.
This is the part I bought -

Were any of you experiencing a gas smell inside the cabin of the car? That's my issue. It's more prevalent after the car has been sitting for a few days.

I would be inclined to think your issue is one (or more) of the following three things:
  • Dried out and/or cracked rubber hoses in the EVAP system
  • Rusted out gas tank
  • Rusted out fuel lines

That purge valve replacement definitely fixed the issue-- no CEL since changing it.

No, there was never any gas smell when the purge valve went bad--just the CEL, codes and fuel cap message.

If anyone else is looking for the EVAP purge valve. I recently ordered from trueblueparts found on ebay or amazon. It was OEM Denso Japan.

The video I attached is how to check if your purge valve is working properly. This one was from china (always get Japan parts) and wasn’t until I fixed it you can here the switch inside going on and off making a “clump sound”
