Broken nuts to hold on license plate...

The two nuts that are in place to screw in the license plate broke off because they were rusted. Now there are just two holes there. I have tried to get license plate screw kits but all of them come with plastic that is square and won't fit into the existing holes. Any ideas on how to fix this so I can get my plate on?

I'm assuming this is the rear plate.

I had the exact same problem last year, too.

What I did was went to home depot and bought 2 nuts and 2 matching bolts (10mm) and JB Welded the nuts onto where the old ones were (that snapped off).

Wait for it to cure and harden, and then just use the 2 bolts to secure your license plate.

BTW, the bottom bolts hold your plate fine.

The JB Weld held for about a week then yesterday as I was closing my trunk they both came off. My bottom brackets are broken as well thats why I can't use them.

Any ideas? Is it too hot here in Florida for the JB Weld to hold up?

Sorry to hear.
You'd want to apply JB Weld liberally and wait a while for it to cure.

The only other option is to have the bolt welded on.

Yeah I am trying it one more time today. If it doesn't hold up then I will have to just find someone to tack them on :/
