Brakes
Hi guys, I've started to notice a noise coming from the passenger side that sounds like something from the wheels. The sound is like a worn out pad that sounds every rotation of the wheels(you know what I mean?). It can only be heard if I'm driving next to a wall or close to a curb or something and I can't hear it when I go faster than 30 or so or really slow too.
I looked at my rear passenger rotor and it is hard to turn it when I get to a certain point, then gets easier until I get to the same point. So I checked to pads and the inside pad was worn on an angle and almost completely worn so I replaced them yet the noise is still there. I was thinking it's either a sticking caliper or warped rotor. I also went out today to look at the rotors again and I saw some scratches on the rear passenger rotor. I could feel that the scratches go into the rotor so it's not just a mark.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

I think that if the caliper was sticking, you would get a constant resistance throughout the entire rotation of the rotor assuming you performed the test with the wheel still attached. Leaving the wheel on ensures the rotor is secured against the wheel hub. If you didn't do it with the wheel on, try that and see if it still resists only at a certain point during the rotation. If it does, then I think your suspicion of a warped rotor is a good place to check next.

in the process, i bent the heat shield.
we replaced the axle and went for a test drive.
a horrible noise emitted.
after doing the axle, I just wanted it to be done with.
but nope, we had to look for the noise.
had to jack it back up several times before we found the culprit.
we bent it one way and thought it was all clear.
put the wheel back on and lowered it.
test drove it.
the heat shield was still hitting the rotor!!!!!!
ahhhh!
we finally got it after like 50 million times...
here's some eyecandy from sunday.

Haha, that sounds like my last week. Installed coilovers - took 2 days lol, installed ingalls rear camber kit - took 2 hours after figuring out I had to buy new nuts/bolts and had to sawzall 2 bolts out (fun stuff lol), had to tighten rear end link twice because of clunking, and my brake noise that's been going on for a while. Damn.
Can't wait to start this mission now haha.
