Brake switch

Brake switch
05 TL my shifter will not shift out of park no matter how hard I hit the brake. I replaced the brake switch today and still have the same issue. This is extremely annoying i have to manually unlock the shifter with my key every single time i get in the car.

The key is in the ignition while i unlock the shifter with my spare key my brake light/horn fuse blew so i know about that issue but didnt think that had anything to do with the car not shifting out of park specially with a new brake switch.

No, soon as it started the brake pedal started getting hard now its like a rock and the car wont even accelerate and smoke comes out of the front wheels. Im thinking my calipers are no good but i dropped it off at the shop so they'll be checking it out first thing tomorrow morning.

The brake switch was intalled incorrectly which ended up partially applying the brakes at all times so my mechanic installed it correctly and it now works fine. Also my horn/stop fuse was blown so it was replaced i hope it doesnt blow again because that would mean i have a short and will involve further diagnosis but so far so good 2 days and no issues yet car shifts out of park fine brake lights work and horn sounds.

Well, the reason that a fuse blows is a high electrical current draw. The only reasons for a high electrical current draw would be an intermittent short, or a failed component with an intermittent short. The reason the trans won't shift is because the brake lights don't work. It's a safety feature.

Just got the horn/stop fuse short fixed now my fuse no longer blows BUT my VSA warning light is still on, the VSA light itself is no longer on but the warning triangle is still on hours after getting thr car fixed. The electrician told me to drive the car that the warning triangle will come off but im not convinced.

VSA light just came back on, before when i put a new fuse in after the first one would blow the VSA lights would come off and everything would work perfect. Now that i got the car fixed properly and fuse is not blowing the VSA lights stay on.

Nope, the check engine light on my car has never come on while ive owned it. Yesterday i took it back to the electrician that fixed the short and he cleared the VSA light. Ive been driving the car since and it hasnt come back on so hopefully it stays like this but now im scared to press the VSA button to see if it works because the light might come back on lol
