It may be the wear indicators doing their thing and telling you the pads need to be replaced. Although this shouldn't happen at 27,000 miles, it is also dependent on the type of driving that you do.

We don't have too much problem with brakes screeching on 5AT cars, so you should get the pads checked. You can look in through the wheel openings and see the calipers, but if you don't know what you are looking for you won't know for sure what the condition of the pads is, so a trip to the dealer or any shop that you trust would be a good idea.

I have the same thing happening to my 04 AT with 12K miles (it started at 8K) mostly when brakes are hot, coming to a stop or decellerating. I noticed that if I break harder the screeching goes away. It's definitely coming from the front brakes and I think it's the right front. In general I think the rotors and calipers on AT cars are barely enough for a car this fast and heavy. At only 5K my brakes looked like shit, the rotors grooved and corroded, constant brake dust, noise and vibration when braking, etc. I must confess I didn't change the brake fluid yet though which you suppose to do ever 3 years, that could be part of the weak brakes problem.
The best solution in my ipinion would be to to replace the stock rotors and pads, and change Honda brake fluid for fine aftermarket products out there. As far as I know most Honda brakes and tires were always not on par with the rest of the car if only they could change that!

I also have squeaking brakes. 05 AT. Asked dealer to look at it 2-3 times now and they always say they don't hear it or see any wear problems.
