Brake light switch. I forget what we sell them for, but I'm pretty sure it's under $20. You can replace it yourself, it's easy. Just make sure it's seated properly otherwise your cruise won't work, and/or your brake lights will stay on or come on too late. (Once you see what it looks like, and look at the old one installed, you'll understand what I mean by adjusting it properly)

But really, it is an easy repair

its the "brake pedal position switch". order it online and install yourself. it goes right behind the brake pedal. the dealer will charge u an hour labor to install and it takes 10 min to do. it snaps into place and has one electrical connection.

i had the same problem a while back.
