My two front wheels have brake dust that will not come out. I have tried everything under the sun. I have used Sonax, which is a pretty powerful clearer. I have tried clay barring it, Adam's APC, and even a power washer. NOTHING! I have no clue how this happen.

I will say that I have noticed that the wheels were refinished at one point and paint was applied with no clearcoat and I think it has baked into the wheel finish. I think I will have to either refinish the wheels or just get two new ones.

Anyone have any insight on this?

 

if their was no clear, you're going to have to refinish the wheels.

 

my wife's Mercedes ML had the exact same problem on her wheels. I was able to get it all off with a lot of scrubbing using a couple of Magic Erasers.

Magic eraser huh. I would never have thought of that. Gonna give it a shot on my dads 7th gen accord.

 

Update: I used one majic eraser yesterday, and all I have to say is WOW! It worked. It took all the baked on brake dust and worked perfectly.
