Question Both Mirror tilt down while driving

I've noticed this second time today. Something triggers both my mirrors in tilt down while driving and I have to adjust them again manually or stop park and use FOB to lock unlock and open again to get it back to my settings. Anybody having same problem? Need to collect as much as info I can give dealer when I bring in for my A12. Have 26K miles in 22 months now.

That definitely should not happen. There have been reports of both mirrors tilting down when put in reverse, but never to my knowledge when driving.

Sounds like something loose or shorting out and definitely a job for the service department.

Instead of using fob to lock unlock and reset, can you do this by just pushing the memory button when in park? This will help the service manager if he knows what you can do to reset the mirrors to their memory positions.

Hmmm...Another thing I noticed, I've that mirror setting as my second memory button, since nobody else is allowed to drive my TL . However, I'm surprised how does it switch to the second mem while driving. I do not touch 2nd mem button nor the other remote is anywehere near my car. And the way I remember I need to have my 6MT in neutral and parking brake applied to change or set mem.

Not to hijack this thread or anything, but has anyone figured out how to modify the TL so that with the side mirrors position switch the middle and the car in reverse, BOTH mirrors tilt down... And for a bonus, if I could still utilize the left-side/right-side tilt when I move the switch to that position???

Anyone done this/is it possible to do???

Thanks in advance!!!

~bump~

My mirrors have been doing the same thing. At first I thought some kid was screwing with me at the parking garage, then I thought it might be the reverse mirro thing, but the other day I was driving and watched both mirrors swing in on me. Anyone besides JJ see this??

JoganJani - did the dealer fix this for you?? How'd it work out?

Same thing happened to me, I took it to the dealer and they replaced the memory control module that controls the memory seats and mirrors. It doesn't happen anymore, I believe there is a TSB about this problem

No Brewmaster, I've had no luck on this. I could never replicate this to the dealer. It still happens sometime. I've applied the TSB for mem module way back in 2004. I do not think that solves this. I'm bringing my TL in in about two weeks for service and will talk to delaer. Keep me posted on any solution you might find.

I would suggest setting the 2nd seat memory to something very slightly different because if its the same, the car will "detect" that its the same as the first, and then it'll have no idea which memory seat button to illuminate.
