Battery Gone!

I have a 05 TL Automatic with 93k miles. I just went in the car and the car won't start. Sooner or later, it barely has any power to unlock the car. I think the battery is dead. I am the 2nd owner of the vehicle, and i haven't replaced a battery for the car.

How long does the battery last for your TL? And where do u usually go shop and install batteries? I guess the dealer will charge more for a battery change. And which battery is good for our TL? thanks

But i just called the dealer, and the service guy told me the warranty for the battery is 4 years, which mine is expired now. Where did u get the 100 months? thanks

I really doubt this is my first battery since the car was purchased. It does say delphi on the battery, but nothing states about the warranty of the battery. I think this is the second battery of the car, since it's a 05. I called the dealer, and they asked for $150 for battery change. is it too much? I also asked them what battery i will be getting, they said it's an Acura battery, but it was built by Interstate. Are they any good? thanks

dude thats messed up !!!!

both the non-acura battery and the $150 the dealer is charging u....

if i were u....i would look into some nice after market battery and switch it out....i really love braille batteries.....call the dealer and find out what are the Cranking Amps (CA) and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) for the stock battery and go with a braille or an optima battery....

switching the battery out is not to hard.....infact its really simple.....

Will take a pic of my stock battery and put it up tomorrow morning !!!!!

what do you mean about the "the non-acura battery"? I am the second owner of the car, i am not sure where the previous owner went for battery changed. How about Sears Auto, is there any good aftermarket battery over there? thanks

BTW, what's an average good battery cost plus installation. thanks again

Best advice for battery replacement .... go with the highest # of Cranking Amps and Cold Cranking Amps you can find in the 24F size.

I'm sure the Optimas are good batteries, but to spend almost $200 for a replacement is nutz. I got the yellow Everstart from Walmart, Consumer Reports Best Buy rated, works fine.

I have 42,000 miles and am on battery #3. Went with the generic NTB battery. Hopefully this will last longer than the Acura batteries.

Our battery crapped out the NEXT DAY after picking the car up from the Acura dealer earlier this year. My wife had been messing with all the electronics in the driveway with the engine off, but not for all that long....I was PO'd but took another vehicle to a nearby O'Reilly and bought a new one. I think it was around 80 bucks.

....reminds me - I need to put all the underhood covers back that go around the battery....been sittin in the garage ever since

I got my battery installed yesterday, i went with the Interstate Mega Tron Plus 1000 cranking amps, and 800 cold cranking amps, I have searched that Interstates are pretty good, and relatively high cold cranking amps rating. It cost me $130 with installation. i guess mine will last a bit from now

I have 42,000 miles on my 05, and I'm going to need a 3rd battery. I'm going aftermarket more than likely, these Acura batteries are crap and they don't seem to want to work with you once you are out or warranty. They HAVE to know these batteries aren't any good.

Note: the 100 month warranty listed on the battery is only if you buy the battery itself. If your car is out of warranty, then the 100 month warranty doesn't apply. That's what two Acura dealers told me. Its pretty stupid.
