Battery Died?!

today had my tl's battery die, TWICE! once after work, and once at my house.. brought it to autozone to recharge it, it turns out to be a bad battery. gotta 100mnth warranty thru acura. i had to buy a battery, my car was stuck windows down and all.. sooooooooo here's the question

is acura gonna reimburse me for me having to drop a hundred bucks on a batter? it's still under warranty, right?

ugh this has pissed me off soooo bad!! should i bring it into acura and try for a reimbursement? or not bother trying?

dude, SCREW the acura batteries. I had mine replaced under warranty and then a few months down, IT DIED AGAIN. Ended up going to an Optima Yellow Top; starts up strong every time. As for the reimbursement, I'd go AGAINST. The stealerships are ALL *itches with it comes to "manufacturers" warranty. The fact that you decided to go with another brand battery, instead of their Acura brand battery in itself will give them means to give you a hard time. BUT HEY, it wouldn't hurt to try...

in this case its beyond the dealers abilty to do anything directly for you on warranty.
normally if you had been able to get it to the dealers shop...

Since it was an emergency- send a copy of the receipt to acura corp in LA
asking for reimbursement
Explain you were stuck and otherwise love your acura- would have been happy to go to the dealer had it been possible....
they can write a check for anything they really want to !

do you have bigger stereo or other type equipment on the car?
acura has a cheap little battery- and 2 years in vegas is like 4 years anywhere else,,,
but 3 batteries- is there a bad ground wire issue or alternator overcharging issue??
Azone or whoever- will test the system for free to make sure the new battery is going to be the only solution- may be another problem killing the battery

There was a recall on the early 3 gen TL's. Something to do with the nav unit drawing too much current so they had to put a clamp on it. I got the recall but never took the car in for the fix because I had the Nav to DVD converter. I didn't want to hear them bitch about it.

Here is a thread I found concerning it.... https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...all+navigation
