Bad window regulator/motor?

Just checking if anyone has had this.. Today when I attempted to roll up my window it rolled 1/2 way up and stopped.. four times in a row.. then went up all the way

I can hold it and get it to go up w/o any issues; my guess is that the car is now a few years old and there is some resistance building, so the auto feature is thinking it has rolled up all the way when infact it's still 1/2 open

Any thoughts? Has anyone else had a bad window motor?

I was just looking thru the service records that came with my car. It looks like the original owner had both regulators replaced on my 04 back when it only had 30k miles. Complaint was that the window wouldn't always go all the way up. Both front window regulators were replaced.

my front passenger window just started doing this. stops at 1/2 way point, pauses, then rolls back down. probably the window channel obstruction since this is exactly what it does when you try to smash your drunk friends fingers with the window.

Had this happen last week and had to replace my regulator (The cable snapped).

Definitely hit the wallet hard.

$80-90/ea for regulators doesn't seem entirely too much. I guess labor might add up, but how hard can it be?

I have an 05 TL with 42k miles. My passenger window regulator was just replaced for the second time. First time, both regulators where replaced within a month from each other and that was when the car was about a couple years old... I will be out of warranty in Oct 09 and I hope they don't keep going out every couple of years

I was afraid the dealer would try and blame my window tint, but surprising they didn't say anything about my tints. You know dealers try to get by with ANY excuse they can think of.

I think mine was attenuated by tighter suspension. I just twisted my Koni's up a notch about a month ago and few weeks later I notice it would bind and retract every once in a while. Probably was hitting a bump or something while rolling up.

Passenger side just got replaced and then my driver's side does it for the 1st time!

my rear passenger window is not going down at all... could it be that my regulator went bad?

My drivers side window actually moves from side to side in the track about 1/2" near the top before it closes. When it binds about half way up and stops, I have to tap it or put pressure on it so it can roll all the way up.

Is this a regulator and how much are they? DIY?

Passenger front window won't auto close

The passenger front window of my 06 has never had a fully functioning auto close. It has always closed half way and opened. Recently, it completely stopped working. I can hear a relay clicking but no motor sound. I'm assuming it's the regulator (has anyone tried to test the regulator?), so I'm trying to decide if I want to buy a Dorman or an OEM regulator. Has anyone regained their auto up function (for an extended time, years) by replacing the regulator? The reviews for the Dorman unit say the auto function will be lost.

Regarding testing the regulator, does anyone know what pins to apply voltage to for testing the motor?
