Bad starter????

My 05 TL is having issues with the starter I think. When the car sits over night I go to start it, it starts fine. When I go for a short ride where the car warms up - I shut it off and go to start it, it cranks like if the battery is almost dead but its not. Last night it was 15 degrees and had no problems, just when the car is warm. Has any one had a problem like that???

It happened to me the exact same issue as you...3 times. Each time it was a crappy Acura battery. Replaced each time under warranty. One time the battery lasted 3 days. I never expected the battery since it started fine. Thought maybe the charging system but not the battery.

I put my money on the battery.. check the volts.. I'd spend money and get a OPTIMA.. or a AC Delco

strange thing...my 05TL...is having the same issue. Notice a strange noise yesterday while i was turning my steering wheel. Unplug my phone charger with the phone and it seem like it went away.

Today started my car about to head home and I had to crank it a couple of time before it started and it look like the battery is about to die. Got home parked it inside for an hours and went to check on it and it would start. I figured it was a dead battery or losing it charge.

Look at the warrenty and it said it will only cover 2 years for a replacement and anytime after that you play a % of the remaing 5 year warrenty for a new battery.

How much it is a battery and how much is it for a Optima?

What it turned out to be was a a bad connection on the starter. I recently had my clutch replaced. The nit wit mechanic who put the car back together did not plug the thin wire that comes from the ignition switch. Poor connection on that wire made it seem like starter was going out. I went to complain to the dealership - I told them that mechanic screwed up on the starter and if he screwed that up I wondered if he screwed up on the clutch too. Service rep told me that since I've been driving for almost a month and nothing is wrong the clutch is fine, as for the starter he offered me free car detail or oil change. I told him to kiss my ass.
