Bad ECU?

so one day my check engine came on at 99k on my 05 and i took it to autozone and they said i have a bad ecu?? are ecu's usually suppose to go out at 99k? lately something had been wrong with my power i would get to the car and wont start. but when i tap the batteries with something metal it would come back on?

i also have some corrosion on the negative of the batteries would this cause the problem? but what about my ecu? i need help fast because this is becoming more of a problem like losing my power and constantly hitting my batteries to come back on!

If there is something wrong with your ECU, hitting the battery should not fix it or make any difference. I'd remove both battery terminals and clean them up as a bad connection can cause problems. If the ECU has failed no hitting of the battery should get it going again.

umm have you cleaned the terminals yet?
what was the EXACT code that autozone pulled?
ALWAYS ALWAYS get the exact code when checking, because "ECU going bad" is to broad and general.

I'm betting its the APP sensor. GET THE EXACT CODE

^thats not the exact code.
it will give a code, and a description...

but with your description of hitting the battery, tells me that the connections are loose or corroded.
Clean them. and see if your problem persists.

Definitely a bad battery connection. Maybe your battery is even going bad. But I would not be concerned about the ECU whatsoever.

because....you didnt have a good connection to the battery.
causing all sorts of ELECTRICAL mishaps to happen.
