Shift from 2nd to 4th?

Shift from 2nd to 4th?
So my car is out of warranty and is tricky to get into 3rd gear. Lately I have passed 3rd and gone right into 4th.

Question: Is this bad for the engine or tranny?

Nope. If you haven't tried this already, put some GM synchromesh in there. I know, personally, someone who had a tricky 3rd gear that the GM synchromesh fixed.
