Back right passenger seat keeps getting wet

Okay weird problem. So back in 09 we were on a road trip and it was raining hard. My daughter was in the back right passenger seat and when we got out of the car she was like, dad my butt's wet. Sure enough her seat was wet when you pushed on the bottom cushion. Well took it in to the dealership and they replaced the water grommet for the ABS back there. Less than a year later, we were back in for the same issue. They looked at it again and resealed everything. January of this year (6 months later) and it's back again. Technician re-resealed everything.

Well guess what happened over the weekend? Back right passenger seat is wet YET AGAIN!!!! I'm friggin highly annoyed. But on a side note, Acura of Bellevue has been amazing about the whole situation. I just wish they could / would put the issue to bed. Well tomorrow my car is going back in again for them to take another swing at it.

My question is, has anyone had this sort of problem? Do any of the Acura techs that read these forums have any ideas that I could pass along to the Service Advisor when I take my car in? Do you guys think I should contact Acura North America and let them know about the problem?

My car is technically out of CPO warranty and the problem started while it was under warranty. Acura of Bellevue has been doing all of the repairs as a warranty issue since it keeps coming back and they warrant their service. Do you think I would be making it worse by letting Acura North America know about the challenges / issue or do you think they may be able to help with the matter.

Sorry for the long post guys but I appreciate your time and insight.

Here's the TSB if they haven't done this before:
Water Leak Under the Rear Seat
If you’re getting complaints from ’04 TL owners
that the floor is wet under the rear seat cushion, it
could be because water is working its way along
the exposed wires in the right rear wheel sensor
harness, up through the grommet, and out into
the body.
This problem is easy to fix. Just inject some
silicone sealer into the wheel sensor harness near
the grommet. Be careful, though, not to get any
sealer on the connector terminals

So in talking to the service advisor today when I took the car in he told me that they had done the exact TSB that was referenced in the link Turbonut gave me. Anyone got any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

yeah from Turbonut's link they had a sublink to yours and I showed them the TSB. Gonna see how it goes. Looks like I'll be rolling the loaner ZDX for a few days. It's decent, definitely not near as good as my TL though. :-)

Water leaks are not easily found, but if you want to give a try, remove the seat and lay some blue rather than white paper towels on the floor and start shooting water under the car from the front, side, rear, etc while having someone watch for wetness on the towel. Moisture on a blue paper towel is easier to view than on white. Takes some time, but with persistence it can be located.

Had a leak years ago, not a TL, wetness on the passenger front floor, turned out to be a body seam in front of the windshield under the fender. Factory uses a caulk, but after a period of time it dried out and lost its ability to adhere and allowed water to seep inside.

Maybe they'll find it this time.

They called me yesterday and they sent my car off to a body shop to do a "gas test" in the back seat to see where the gas leaks out from.
