B codes?

Hello everyone. I am new to the Acura, well owning one atleast. I worked for Acura as a Painter for three years but I have always been a VW owner. I finally got tired and made the switch to the most solid car on the road in my opinion. I bought it today, it is a 2007 TL and I love it. Only issues I have noticed are ALL the b codes popping up on the dash. Only thing I am aware of is the trunk was not popping and they had to get the radio code before I would purchase it. They did but now these codes are popping up and my scanner shows nothing so I am assuming they are minor codes. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Here's something I found once. Hope it helps.

Maintainence Main Items
A=
Replace engine oil
B=
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect these items:
-Tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
-Suspension components
-Driveshaft boots
-Brake hoses and line (including ABS)
-All fluid levels and condition of fluids
-Exhaust system
-Fuel lines and connections
Maintainence Sub Items
1=
Rotate tires
2=
Replace air cleaner element
If you drive in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000
miles (24,000 km).
Replace dust and pollen filter
If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high
concentrations of soot in the air from industry and
from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000
miles (24,000 km).
Inspect drive belt
3=
Replace transmission fluid
Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle
speeds or trailer towing results in higher
transmission and transfer temperatures. This
requires transmission and transfer fluid changes
more frequently than recommended by the
maintenance minder. If you regularly drive your
vehicle under these conditions, have the transmission
and transfer fluid changed at 60,000 miles (100,000
km), then every 30,000 miles (48,000 km). (For A/T
only.)
4=
Replace spark plugs
Inspect valve clearance
5=
Replace engine coolant

NOTE:
Inspect idle speed every 160,000miles (256,000 km).
Adjust the valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 only if they are noisy.
Independent of themaintenancemessages in themulti-information
display, replace the brake fluid every 3 years.

Do all these things work? That's a lot of comm issues. Hopefully just happened intermittently and the codes are locked until cleared. Otherwise you may be in for an expensive fix.

something isnt right. and since you recently got the HIDs installed, it COULD be the source.
you need to go over all the wiring.
re-checking EVERything.

Bought it today? Was it from an Acura dealer, other dealer or private sale.

With that many electrical codes, I would try to take it back. 3G TL's are very complex electrically and I would be very wary of this. Unless you can get a lifetime warranty for electrical issues with roadside service.

I bought it from an Independent Dealer and also purchased a 25,000 mile warranty which covers close to everything. I drove the car several times before buying it and it was fine. When I came to pick the car up they were there and like I said, I beleive they popped up because they fixed whatever was causing the trunk not to pop (fuse maybe?) and they had to get the radio code for me from Acura to set it so I am thinking whatever they did to get those two issues fixed is what caused them to pop up. I don't think they are major issues because everything still works fine but they are annoying to stare at while driving more than anything.

Remember, if you changed your timing belt at 100k or so they surely changed your coolant also. So you can ignore a B5 service code.

Thumbs up

Got it! They are codes for the Navi and also because they put a different actuator from a different year on my trunk when they changed it. Sweet! Thanks for all your help folks. Also if anyone has these codes pop up, let me know and I will look them up on AllData at work. Thanks.

I've been having issues with my TL as well and got some of these code:

B1010
B1005
B1006

My alarm has been triggering in heavy rain and this is all the dealer was able to pull. Very frustrating!

Did you ever figure out what was going on with these codes? I just experienced this same thing last night, and into today! Rain, plus alarm trigger, and these display codes!

Holy Revival
plug under the steering wheel. Causes that weird “b” code to continually flash on the mid.

What did you have to do to fix this issue?? I’m getting the exact same codes due to something within the Navi system but don’t know how to get rid of them.

Question: Have literally all the same codes you had mentioned up above. How did you end up fixing the Navi Code? My trunk doesn’t pop open either when i click the button so i’m going to replace actuator just was wondering how you fix the Navi code did you have to get factory stereo put back in?? Currently have an aftermarket double din in the Acura no clue if this could be causing the B Codes to pop up as well. Please let me know Thank You in advance!
