Multiple MID error messages after stereo install

Hello,

I am having an issue after I had my sub and amp installed professionally. The installers told me that my car threw the codes after reconnecting the battery. They said they have seen this before on other cars and it just takes their code reader to clear the codes but since my car is an 08 TL-S, their code reader is not able to. They did tell me that they did something with the fuse box as well on the install. I am sure that the disconnecting the battery would not throw the codes but maybe the fuse work they did? The codes below are being displayed on the MID. Can anyone help decipher what they are? Is it possible to try to clear the codes myself either by disconnecting the battery? I am planning on taking my car into the dealership tomorrow to have them look at it. Mileage on car is 2100 fyi.

b2207 97

b1008 10
b1007 10
b1006 10

Thanks.

holy shit thats a lot of codes.... GL with that

i installed the stereo my self on both my TLs, never had a problem like that

seems to me like the shop fcked up some fuses and/or the fuse box.... no way a simple audio cable and 12v tap can throw THAT many codes

The install just consisted of a new amp and subwoofer. They unplugged the stock sub and that was it.

call them and ask them what they did, esp with the fuse box. All they should have done with the fuse box was tap for a trigger wire to turn on the amp, and they probably fucked that up too.

^ ditto

doing that install is as easy as it gets

run the tiny 12v remote turn on lead to the fuse box, and use the add-a-circuit fuse... attach it to the ACC fuse (radio, bluetooth, etc) and thats it

seems to me like they probably tapped into the ECU or some type of computer fuse, and blew the fuse and/or melted the fuse connector

either way

DO NOT TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP !!!!!!!! not in that condition.. there is no way they will look at it with that crap attached. and probably charge you, or refuse warranty service.

bring it back to the shop and tell those guys to fix it... no way, you should throw those type of codes. ive done the same install twice on the TL... its almost as simple as plugging in your new home stereo and speakers... find out which fuse is ACC, and have them connect it that to, and rectify any damage they might have done to another fuse

I talked with the install place and they said they had to unbolt the fuse box to run a wire through then put it back but they did not pull anything out etc. They double checked the fuse box after the codes were thrown etc and asked me to ask the dealership to clear the codes and if the dealership charges or denies to look at it to have them call the install place and they would explain and cover any charges if there happens to be any. So I guess that is the best route. What do you guys think? Thanks guys for your help.

I would have thought the audio install place would have done this. But anyways I have an appt with the dealership to pull/clear all the codes, hopefully this will resolve it.

I received a call back from the Audio installer and they did disconnect the fuse box to run a wire through so I'm guessing that is why all the codes were thrown.

they probably disconnected it, and either

a) forget to reconnect it or
b) started the car to test the stereo, with the fuse box disconnected. This would throw all those codes

keep us updated!

I wanted to give an update. The dealership was able to clear all of the codes, it seems that some of the codes which could not get cleared was due to the stereo installers plugging in a under dash light 3 prong connector into the wrong connector in the fuse box, i believe they said into the multiplex connector. Everything is up and running and I have a nice bill from the dealership for the stereo install place to reimburse me with.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

i still do not understand what they did wrong. I did the sub/amp istall myself and did not have any problems. They better pay for it, if not i would take them to court.
