Anythin to stop a crack on a window?

Theres a small crack on the front passanger side window. Its slowly starting to spread, and I wont be able to change it till over the weekend. Is there anything I could apply to it to prevent it from spreading even more or atleast hold till the weekend? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sometimes you can drill a small hole/dimple right in front of crack and it will stop.

if your replacing it you could even brush some clear epoxy over it

OP, call your insurance and tell them you have a small crack in the windshield. They'll refer you to a windshield repair shop, who will give you a lifetime warranty on the repair. Best of all: IT'S FREE! Do it, you'll see.

Put some super glue on the cracks. That'll hold you until you replace the window.

PRince: not sure what insurance he has but, if i need to replace my glass I'd have to pay a 500 deductible. Which is more than the cost of the glass. [ oem ]

Window Crack

Normally you'll find that most auto glass dealerships like Safety Glass will come out to your location and conduct a repair onsite.
Sure saves $$ on a replacement.

You might be right. I just assumed everyone had glass coverage.

I have 500 deduct on glass REPLACEMENT
but geico sent safelite to the house for no charge to give it a try at fixing the crack from rock
Shops normal charge is 50 bucks for that job

Some of the epoxy came out of the fill and catches a wiper blade- but its been 2+ years since the repair, I guess thats pretty good for a rock chip fix
Maybe they can add more glue and I will get another year~

A dremel and steady hand is required if you want to try stop drilling yourself
On a side/door window I wouldnt even worry about it for only a few days - just dont roll it up and down

In Florida, by law there is no deductable for windshield repair or replacement. Which is great because I've had to replace mine twice already. But each state is different.

I dated a girl who's father owned an auto body shop. I cracked my windshield when I had my Integra and didn't have the $$$ to replace it right away. He said if you put clear nail polish over it, it will delay it from spreading. It worked for me.

Same here, I have a $500 deductible w/GEICO and they've sent Safelite to fix 3 cracks in my windshield for no charge. The repairs aren't invisible, but they're all on the passenger side so I don't stare at them when I'm driving, which would drive me crazy. They say they can fix anything that's smaller than a dollar bill.

Next time I buy a new car I'm going to get glass coverage so I can have my windshield replaced. I never had a windshield get so pitted like the one on the TL.

01tl4tl Safelite told me once they work on a repair, they won't touch it a second time because it might compromise the glass.

Yeah man, call safelite, everyone has the right idea with epoxy. It will make sure it doesn't spread, but safelite will do it pretty cheap.
