Anyone know the sequence for a resetted ECU

I need to complete a smog check but I just remembered that I changed my battery had died a week ago. I was wondering if anyone knew the sequence to complete the following. I got it smogged yesterday and I failed due to a OBD catalyst-not complete and an OBD EVAP- Not complete. Thanks

I had all this info written down but I have no idea where it is. If you drive about 50 miles hitting various speeds throughout the course of the drive youll be good to go. Do some highway and city driving mixing up your speeds and cruise at different speeds for a few minutes

Are you trying to clear a Check Engine light or dash trouble light?

If so, that's different from setting/resetting the ECU, which for the TL refers to the factory vs. adaptive engine/throttle/transmission settings controlled by the ECU.

No, he's referring to setting the Readiness Codes. Takes at least 3 days to set. There is a procedure to expedite the process.

OP, RTFM....pg. 243/263

If you just replaced the battery and there hasn't been a CEL then you will have to drive until the there is enough data saved regarding emissions. The information probably got erased when you changed the battery...similar to if you reset a CEL the information would have to accumulate for the reading. I have been told it could take 500 miles.

Nope, page #'s are correct for 04 OM. Hmmm. Only 270 pp in the 04 manual. Wonder what's been added for the 07??

OP, search the index for "Readiness Codes"...

They had to add all the TL-S specific stuff. In some cases I know it's several pages on a topic. Not sure if that accounts for all the page difference, but certainly some of it.

I hadn't thought of that. But I was perplexed why your were referencing the "fuel guage" page (or whatever it was in my OM).

First addressed on p. 253 of the slightly lengthier '05 manual, but OP has an '06.

Regardless, it is referenced in the manual's index.

Cool found it. Was wondering though. Could I do all the sequences all in one engine start or do I need to do them separately?
Let car sit for 6+ hours
Car have 3/4 tank
Outside temp between 40-95 F
start car let idle for 20 secs
keep in park and rev engine to 2k RPM for 3 mins
Travel highway for 20 minutes going 50-60 MPH (thats slow) & drive 90 secs without moving pedal.
drive city for 10 mins & let coast a couple secs without applying gas or brake.
