Another Problem

Sup guys,

So my uncle-in-law replaced my engine after he drove my car thru the mid-atlantic. The transmission went bad afterwards..assuming that his actions caused this. The dealer replaced the tranny under my powertrain warranty. Now i'm getting this sound & I cant figure it out. it's not the power steering, for the sound is consistent even when the car is warmed up. This sound also increases upon giving the car some gas. My uncle-in-law who also happens to be a mechanic insinuated that it's the alternator. Any suggestions?

the goal is for him to fix the problem indeed.
i would like pin point the problem first. if i left it up to the dealer, they'll basically bullshit me all the way.

Remove the sepentine belt and check all the pulleys, especially the idler.

What year is your car? Because I have an 05 and my dealer told me The 05's are not covered under powertrain warranty

I would check the idler pulleys first, they are the cheapest and the most prone to failure

On the contrary. It was a bad bearing within the AC compressor. Problem solved.

I was going to suggest rocking both pulleys to check for a bad bearing. Glad you got it fixed OP.
