my 2006 5AT 160,000mi. has developed transmission issue.
-first time in drive thru on my lunch break i noticed a louder then normal more pronounced whine from trans, within 30 seconds when pulling forward it started to slip and shudder. i made it back to work and shut off. came out after work and drove home fine, continued to drive perfect for 3 weeks
-second time in drive thru whining returned, car slipped and shuddered then would not move forward/reverse nothing! pushed out of drive thru, shut car off, went in got my food and came back out went into reverse harsh, then drove fine.
-replaced 3rd and 4th pressure switches
-3x3 fluid change
-replaced cartridge transmission filter
-car drove perfect for 300miles!
-now it has returned, i can drive the car for about 5-10 minutes shifts fine and then whine returns, transmission starts to shudder then slip then won't move
-scanned with snap on scanner at work... No codes
Has anyone had same experience... it seems to me that there is a fluid flow restriction. possibly pressure control solenoid screens? possibly transmission is just DONE!
-take it to Acura where they are almost definately going to just tell me it needs a new trans
-take it to AAMCO who rebuilt my lexus suv trans which has been perfect for 70,000 miles now.
ANY ADVICE greatly appreciated.

 

Also the wierd thing is when car won't move i can turn ignition off for 30-60 seconds then back on and it will move fine in all gears for another 5 minutes everytime

 

Could be something is clogging up a passage, once you turn the car off, whatever it is drops out and down to the bottom of the pan until it gets picked up again.

 

how many miles you got on the TL ? you could take it to Acura and have it replaced under warranty....

EDIT: you already posted that, 160K...

well try Redline Type F fluid....it might help
