Always Double Check The Dealers Work......

I brought my TL to a well respected Acura dealership last week to have the front end checked out, as something felt loose going over bumps.Turns out my passenger side engine mount was broke, so I gave the go ahead for them to fix it (I do not have the means to do it myself).
I got in the car, and it drove fine with no problems. Today, I decided to take a look under the hood, as I was curious to see what the new mount looked like compared to the old one.
As you can see in the pic, the PS fluid reservoir was not placed back on its mount after the install, allowing it to rub against an engine pulley.
The service advisor was very apologetic, and will take care of everything, but it's still dissapointing to see the lack of care taken.

Sorry to say, it happens every now and then even to the best of the techs.

True. In my younger years I would have flown off the handle. There are more important things in life to stress about...

Yeah, I had that same thing happen when I had the safety recall done on the PS hose. And that was just the beginning. I'm done letting anyone work on my car. I'll either do it myself or stand next to someone doing it.

Agree, you have to double check if you let anyone else work on your car.
My previous car RSX front strut had to be replaced under TSB and they forgot to tighten two pinch bolts, one fell on the way home, and i thought it was some rock or something.. Next day in day light when I checked i was like whaaatt!! the other bolt was just hanging by few threads.
They took the car in again and re did the work, this time only to cut the cv boot!!

not only dealers can have mishaps. keep in mind everyone is human.
id still have my vehicle serviced by a reputable acura dealer than a mom and pop shop, for the simple fact if something does go worng, it will be taken care of fast with no/little questions asked.

Wow, I thought it was a one in a million occurence.
The service advisor seemed embarassed when I dropped it off, and everything is good as new.
I guess it pays to be curious, as I would have had PS fluid all over my garage if I had not checked.

I ran into that problem too when changing out my belts.
Although once I drove down the street I realized my steering was a bit stiff.

I pulled over, popped the hood and noticed I forgot to put it in its proper place.

Was your steering stiff?

No, steering felt fine. Another 20 miles and I would have had a good workout.

Steering stiff??? Mine pissed its fluid all over the engine bay on the interstate. two turns later and I almost steered into the parked car next to me when I tried to turn into a parking spot.
