Acura TL non Navi to Navi Installed.. GPS bouncing everywhere.. help?

Installed the Non Navi to Navi with Best buy yesterday.. Awesome guys and they have full warranty to bring in if theres something not working. Navigation unit functionality is great, however GPS seems to show the car flying all over the place like an airplane. Is this a calibration issue that will fix itself? Or What is going on? Also, even though the Navi voice works my hands free link is not working...

Advice, Tips, experiences? Appreciated in advanced, thanks.

Pics coming soon...

the flying car does seem like a calibration issue.

hands free might have died unrelated to navi install.
or if it is related, the best buy guys will need your car again to figure it out

Damn you took your car to BB for a non-navi to navi conversion? How much did they charge you for that?!?!

Yes the best buy guys said I can bring it back in if it continues, however they are just going by the charts I pulled up from Acurazine from other members conversions so we are just brainstorming what could be the reason. Calibration the first time I brought it in took about 20mins (Did not plug in the VSS can HI Can LOW as they connect directly to the car's carter ECU)

yesterday drove about 3 Intervals of 20mins each.. Still not calibrated after the plug in

Does anyone know if the hands free link is connected only to the front speakers? I have aftermarket speakers and it seems my fader front is muffled, not sure if this is related to my after market amp

Yea So I talked to the guys before hand to see their experience with Conversions. Anthony (Norcal CA) was a super cool dude. He had done conversions before but first time on the TL.

payed about 300 lifetime warranty with best buy

Hell that's not bad at all! I hope everything works out for you.

I remember having everything for that conversion at one point and never installed it. So long ago.

Thanks Yea I've had this car since 2008. Some electronic shops were trying to dissuade me from putting oem navi on a car this old (probably to sell my an aftermarket one) but I am planning on doing mirror interface with my phone. (Youtube, Waze maps, Amazon prime come to mind..)

But I still want my navi to work haha when I stand still it knows what street I'm on but when driving literally flying a 5mile radius from my actual location

My new found philosophy is it's a shame for one to grow old without seeing ourselves at our best and truest potential (both for myself and my TL) haha so.. within the last 1.5 years (Tiens, Rims, Jpipe, Exhaust, Navi.. ) I personally would choose my TL over the Tesla 3 coming out.. that's just me though

at least the backup camera works.. haha  glass half full here

do you have metallic tint on the rear window? Was the GPS antenna properly installed on the rear deck?

Your hands free link won't work as the radio has different software for the non-navi models vs navi models to handle the HFL. You can swap out the radio for one that had nav.

Hm. Thanks I did not know about the Radio part, as for tints I have no tints. we had put the GPS antenna in the rear speakers, is there a particular spot you have in mind?

Also, We never disconnected the battery during the install, is that a possible factor?

been about 2 weeks still doesn't work. I just downloaded the 2016 navi in hopes it would be a factor. So far standing still the GPS knows the street, other than that it thinks I'm flying on a magic carpet

the GPS antenna goes on the rear shelf where the speakers are. Perhaps one of the wires are crossed to the navi unit that communicates wheel speed. There's a diagnostics thing built into the nav.

Hold MAP MENU AND CANCEL together for 5 seconds and you'll come up to the diagnostics menu. Poke around in there!
