Acura replacement battery

Hi,

My 06 TL battery died last week and the dealership replaced the orginial Delphi with a "Acura" brand battery. Are the replacements just rebadged/refurbished Delphi batteries? They look a little cheap but hey, as long as it works.

Thanks in advance.

battery

Was it replaced at no charge? Someone in an earlier post said TL's have 3 year battery warranties. Mine needs a jump start for the second time in the last 6 months.

I think they only use new batteries. What do you care? The price was right and you have a warranty that will be honored.

I was so pissed when my battery acted up that I went somewhere else and purchased a new one. How stupid was that?

My dealership replaced it even w/o me asking for it. They checked the crank power during a regularly scheduled maintenance and found it to be low... So they hooked it up with a new battery. Right on!

Acura batteries are junk. Had mine die twice in the first year. I would just replace it with a Interstate or Yellow top. Why go thru the inconvenience, you know it is going to leave you stranded somewhere.

I put an interstate battery in my wifes SUV and it has been 4 years and has never ever once had a hard time starting. It has a 7 year warranty, paid $110

the acura batteries are junk. I would just go get a free replacement every time that battery reads low.

My car was bought August 2006, battery died in August 2007 and the 2nd died in December 2007. I have a temporary battery in there for now but I will be taking back to the dealer for replacement. I'll keep doing this as long as I have a warranty, why waste money? I'm goin for a Optima once my warranty is done. I have crazy lights and an amp in my car.

I replaced my battery a few months ago with the yellow EverStart Maxx from Walmart. 700 Cold Cranking Amps versus the original Acura battery's 550 CCA's. About $70 with trade-in of the old battery.

This battery got a Best Buy rating in Consumer Reports.

I think the question should be what is your time worth. Why does Acura think it is ok to have their customers waste their time to come in for a free replacement battery. That is crap. My time is worth more that $100 or so bucks for a good replacement battery. Who knows when/were their POS will leave you stranded. Buy a new battery then stop by the dealership and leave them a present. Tell them to keep their POS or give it to someone else.
