AC compressor bracket broke

Morning,

I have a 2006 TL. AC clutch stopped working, I verified it wasn't the relay or anything else, it wouldn't engage. Long story short, replaced the clutch and many of the other parts. I don't drive much anymore, especially due to COVID, (300 miles since Jan) Last week, as I'm driving out, the AC hose shot out of the compressor. Either I over torqued or part was too rusty, as the screw broke off. I know I didn't put in too much refrigerant.
Anyway, anyone know if it's possible to replace this screw in the bracket? Or where I can buy the bracket? I cannot find this part anywhere.(only place I found, it was out of stock [www.sacramentocarparts.com])

Thank you,
Pawel

it should be possible to replace like any other stud. best guess, it's an M6 thread. which is pretty common on Honda/Acura stuff. try to remove it, measure to confirm the size and start looking around for a replacement stud.

other option is to find the whole thing in a nearby self-serve salvage yard. Acura, it seems sells this only as part of a new compressor but most remanufactured compressors don't include it. probably wouldn't cost much and should clean up well and work like new with new seals/O-rings.

Not necessary, the stud is sticking out where you can just grab it and back it out

Morning! I didn't think the stud would come out. Took the vise-grips, and it came out! Thank you!

Trying to locate the M6 (6x50) stud on the parts store, no luck... Since they don't show the bracket on the parts page, I'm sure they use this stud elsewhere in the car. I can't find it though. I'll try to bring it to the dealer to see if they can find it, but a part # would go along way. Anyone know how to find it?

Thank you in advance,
Pawel

I'm having hard time picturing what bracket that is. You can't find it on the diagram provided by thoiboi?

When you buy the ac compressor, it does not come with the bracket. As you can see here, you have to take it off the old one and attach to new one.

You are not likely to find that specific 'stud' at the dealer separately because it is part of that larger assembly attached to the OEM AC compressor, as you mention.

With that said, if you have a local hardware store (i.e. Ace Hardware) you might get lucky and find a full threaded M6 stud, of appropriate length, that you can use as a substitute. Just make sure to take what you have so they can help match the threads / length.

Ahh that sucks.. it looks like only OEM comes with it: https://www.oemacuraparts.com/oem-pa...9tYXRpYw%3D%3D

but if you buy an aftermarket (even on a DENSO item: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...432641&jsn=802) they expect you to re-use it... Go to a junkyard to source another one perhaps?

look for "double end stud" like this then sort by thread size and length for a good match

It's first time I see bracket like that. Guess I need to take a better look at my car next time hah.

Any reason against using a bolt, or getting some random stud with the same threads? The thing holds the AC line, and line is sealed with o-ring, right? If that there is not much force that stud needs to hold.

Take a look at McMaster's website. If they don't have it chances are nobody has it.
