6spd Type S 6000rpm limit in 1st gear

Hi all,

I've owned a 2008 Type S (6 speed) for a couple weeks now, and whenever I go full throttle in first gear, the revs cap out at 6000 rpm. This issue doesn't happen in any other gears. Any pointers or tips?

Know nothing about this, but might be worth checking these threads (even if some aren't for 3g TL's):

Hopefully you didn’t break the bank with transmission/clutch work or any other complicated and expensive repairs. Just replace your accelerator pedal sensor. It’s in your engine bay, passenger side, and bolts to the firewall and strut bar.

I’ve got the 6MT TL Type S as well. If I went wide open, My first gear topped out around 5800. I mean the car would jolt forward but no power, like I slammed the brakes. Dealership said nothing is wrong. Another shop said clutch is slipping. Others said oil pressure and VTEC. I picked up the pedal sensor, installed it, and problem was completely gone.
