6MT/TL-S LSD oil?
So, I was browsing through some magazines and saw an ad for "LSD Oil" and thought, "wait... they have those?". Well, time to let my inner noob shine.
After a few quick google searches turns out there is such a thing.
So, my questions are,
at what intervals should the LSD oil be changed? And when do we know we should be changing the oil? My TL is at roughly 150,000KMs... I don't know if the LSD oil has ever been changed [from previous owner or from dealership].
And lastly, what is a good oil to change it with?

So, I'm sitting here, thinking of the possibilities...
Does the LSD just share tranny fluid?
I'm confused though cause I see things about 'LSD oil' then I see "LSD additives".

The LSD fluid or additive is just a friction modifier to keep the LSD clutches from chattering around corners. I've never looked at a TL's LSD but I don't think it uses clutches or cones like many muscle cars use. If it's not a clutch/cone style you don't need the additive.
The trans shares fluid with the diff. Do not put this additive in the trans as it can reduce the holding power of the transmission's clutches and cause them to slip.
Just to clarify, some oils come with the FM already in them and sometimes the FM is sold in a small tube to add to a non FM fluid.

That makes things clearer, somewhat.
I guess the LSD/Tranny is fine with just the GM-synchromesh tranny fluid then. Thanks again!
The LSD used in the 3G TL is of the helical type and therefore uses no clutch packs. And it is only offered with the manual transmission as I'm sure everyone on this site already knows. It is part of the differential assembly and is packed into the transaxle case so it is lubricated by the same fluid as the transmission gear sets.
