when i test drove my car i forgot to try out the speed shifter. when i was driving home i tryed it out and i have a question about, when i put it in first gear it will up shift to second by it self, now are all tl do that or something is wrong with my? it will only do from 1st to 2nd but then from 2nd to 3rd and so on i have full control of it. I know when i had a TSX i could up shift from 1st to 2nd when i feel like it not the car doing it for me.So do all TL do that?

 

That is how it is supposed to be I dont know if that is good news to you or not. 2nd dosent like to go above 4k if it is there for more than a secon or too i get the check enging light but it will go away after a while

 

Yes the behavior is normal.

I haven't seen Check Engine Light in 2nd gear... I keep it in 2nd during spirited driving

Also, I think you are in Sicily, so it could be the gas, but not too likely because they run Ferrari's on that gas also.

I had the same problem when I put regular gas in once for a test to see what would happen. At 4,000rpm, the rev limiter took over and the CEL flashed.

Before 12xxx, software/firmware update is required.
Crankshaft position sensor/valve controller/O2 sensor/Coil packs/Exhaust Gas Recirculating Valves/ECM (PCM) software incorrectly interprets sensors inputs could be the factors, too.

I just got my 06 Alabaster Silver metallic/Quartz (hence my screen name) in December and was told by the salesman that it would shift into 2nd on its own. I thought that sort of defeats the purpose, but what r u gonna do. I havent used mine yet as I am trying to give it a proper break in, but i love driving this car.
