3rd gear grind, even after GM fluid

What's up fellas... I have on 04 6 speed Tl and my third gear grinds everytime, even after two fill ups of the magic fluid.. I've been doing research and I can't find a complete parts list to have the gear set replaced... My local shop is wanting to charge 1880, 1100 labor and the rest in parts.. Does this seem reasonable? I'm in San Antonio Texas if that helps, thanks for any info, if someone knew the parts list I would be forever grateful!

Are you still having this issue? I am assuming yes since you bump it.

if you go to the TSB's section and follow the instructions you should be able to pull up the 3rd Gear TSB from acura that lists all the parts and corrective action. It involves taking apart the trans and actually replacing the gear-sets. Make sure a qualified shop does the work because more often than not they can mess up 1st gear or reverse easily.

Right I am still having the issue :/ I'm in Texas and gunn acura has the parts for about 300, and labor will probably be above 1300, I'm just nervous they will open it up and see the clutch needs replacing since all of the grinding may have worn it down, and don't have the cheddar to replace both at the moment lol. But all joking aside I baby the car and shift slowly to third everyday so that it barely does grind, but it's annoying getting on the highway or any type of speeding up with this damn issue

^the clutch and tranny are two different systems that work in tandem.

if your syncros are shot, thats the transmission and not the clutch.
matter of fact, they wont even look at your clutch, because its on the opposite end of what they are supposed to be looking at.

the gear set is all that needs to be replaced.

Now, if you do have a slipping clutch; you'll noticed RPMs rising but not speed.
but, your Original Post says thats its third gear popping out or grinding of the gear set.

My '06 did that until the new clutch was put in. After that, never slipped out of gear or grind.

Have this problem on my 2005 Tl. If I shift slowly and pause in neutral before going into 3rd it slides in nice. Have to do this until I can afford to fix it.
