3rd Brake Light Glare Issues
Hey all!
Looking for some advice/input around a problem I have with my TL. I'm assuming that its the liner around my 3rd brake light, but at night when I hit my brakes it creates a big red spot on my rear window. Obviously this is a safety hazard as I can't see out of my back window. Anyone experience this before or know of a fix for it?
Thanks in advance!

use some 3m double sided tape and/or window weather stripping and just get the bottom flap on the brake light cover to adhere to the window.

I have my '08 TL in the shop for some odds and ends and mentioned the "bleeding" of light. Turns out that the tech feels that it is "in spec". I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and understand that there is nothing that will come of them replacing/fitting the light cover. Using the stripping is a good idea! Thanks!

mine does it..still have to fix it one day. Pretty annoying. I believe there's even a TSB for this somewhere.

I removed the cover and snapped it in at a very slight angle that keeps the black part tight against the window. I pushed in the clips closer to the window in first and saw that it fixed the issue and did not push in on the other end. If i push in the other end, the angle will go away causing the glare on the window again..

Guys, just to let you know the EASIEST fix to know that the proper way to install the light cover is to press it back and stop after you hear the first click, DO NOT proceed further until you hear the second click.
I dont know why Acura designed it this way, maybe for better removal, but most of us who didn't know better have tendancy to press it all the way in to make sure it is securely installed, don't do that. Once is enough, if you press it back all the way in(hearing two clicks), the rubber skirt will end up lower and create a crack to let the brake light leak out. Hope that helps.
