Hey guys, recently bought a 2004 TL with 102k miles. Runs great, tranny flush, oil change, spark plugs and all the other good stuff. The transmission shifts really nice and smooth but the tiptronic doesn't down shift, it only lets me up shift. Has anyone had this problem?

Yes, all gears. As if the down shift doesn't even work.

 

Does the car show the gears in tiptronic? And does the car downshift properly on its own when slowing down?

 

Yes it shows the gears when in tiptronic mode and also down shifts on its own.

 

Sounds like a bad connection at the shifter.

 

My guess too.

OP, test the switch.
